BFI Southbank now has a schedule of events listed for September and October; Merlin is not listed as of yet. Last year, the Merlin preview was announced about 4 weeks before the event, which in turn was 2 weeks before the TV premiere. If the rumoured 29 September TV premiere is accurate, an announcement might come in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll keep an eye out for that.

@BFI @MerlinOfficial Hi guys, just wondering - is the BFI is going to be screening the first new ep of Merlin again this year?
@Chris_Casey42 We don’t have any information regarding a Merlin screening yet, stay tuned…

It’s likely that they just haven’t worked out a time yet - last year’s was organised fairly hastily from what I remember, and wasn’t listed in the schedule when it first came out either.

‘who are our guest stars?’
‘who are our stars?’
‘what’s continuity?’
‘what’s development?’
Dear God he is in charge…
What a lot of people don’t seem to realise is that Johnny Capps isn’t just a producer on Merlin - he’s the creative director for Shine, one of the biggest independent production companies operating in this country. That in itself is more than a full time job. Running something like that is basically a lifestyle. Being a showrunner is another lifestyle again - this guy is working two seperate LIVES at the same time. NO ONE has that much time and energy!
Whilst I can’t exactly blame JCapps for his lack of attention to Merlin, I do think it’s clear that he should have delegated primary responsibility for the show to someone who could actually give it the time it needs. The reason continuity suffers, the reason characterisation sucks, the reason we often get recycled plots and essentially the same episode over and over again about Merlin and Arthur being NOT GAY OMG is because THIS MAN DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS SHOW. It is suffering a result.

- At no point does Gwen tell Arthur not to go looking for Merlin. I’m pointing it out because I’ve seen people say that she does but it definitely doesn’t happen.
- I don’t know why Merlin is asking Gaius about poison, I would have thought he was an expert on the subject by now.
- Oh noticed Merlin acting strangely have you Gaius? And you think he might be enchanted/possessed? And you’re not going to blame him for his actions and you’re actually going to help him? Good for you, pity you couldn’t do the same for Gwen. Git.
- I shall forever treasure Gwen hitting Merlin with the jug.
- Arthur is being clever and has become suspicious of Agravaine. This episode is so confusing!!! It’s like I’ve slipped into a parallel universe where Merlin has competent writing.
Pity it doesn’t last.- Queen Gwen and the jug to the rescue again!
- Ew at naked Arthur, put some clothes on slut!!!
Showing all these things specifically because YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously, this whole thing is excellent. I need to rewatch this episode because it was basically the only top quality episode of the entire series.

Merlin series 4, The Complete Series (cover)
Going to miss the Merlin cast & crew tweets…Hope next year hurry’s up so we get them all again. At least we still have 11 eps of their great work to watch :D !!

A show with no consistency in it’s plot that completely butchers Arthurian Legend. Camelot is a land where magic is outlawed because shit happened to King Uther over two decades ago.
A dragon plays matchmaker to Prince Arthur and Merlin, Morgana is in lesbians with her half sister, and everyone Merlin touches dies.
ACCURATE.
Wait! One last thing: And like this summary it completely ignores Gwen and anything she’s ever done.

Empire Big Screen lists Merlin on its schedule for August 12, 11:15 AM: “See exclusive footage from Series 4 of the smash hit BBC fantasy-adventure, with cast members in attendance for a sure-to-be-magical Q&A.” Check the site page for information.
Whilst this looks awesome it should be pointed out that the event is for ‘diamond ticket holders only’ and those diamond tickets will set you back £65. Given how cheap events like this normally are this feels like major profiteering. I’ve never paid more than £13 to attend an event that the cast have been at. If you’re pushed for cash I’d advise people to hang about for the next con or BFI screening. I seriously doubt that this event will be worth it when the BFI (where you get, you know, actual whole episodes plus autographs plus Q&A plus loads of cool free goodies) only charges £6 a ticket.

I’d like to put together a masterlist, and I’m sure I could rattle off a dozen names or so but I know there are more than that.
If you make gifs, graphics, videos, art, fic, provide screencaps, or are a source for news or photos, please reblog. (You can reblog to spread the…
I have written a lot of fic in the past - I don’t have time to do so much anymore, but will likely be posting episode codas again once S4 starts airing, and I have one last BIG epic project in the works which I’m hoping to get posted before then.
